Burnet County ESD 11 Overview<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The creation of Burnet County Emergency Services District (ESD) 11 was approved by district voters in the November 4, 2025 election. The ESD is governed by a Board of five Commissioners that are appointed by the Burnet County Commissioners Court.<\/p>

ESD 11 is located in the western central part of Burnet County known as Hoover\u2019s Valley. It is bounded on the west by the shorelines of Inks Lake and the Colorado River arm of Lake LBJ and stretches generally eastward from the lakes for a total area of approximately 23 square miles. The District has experienced extensive growth over the past two decades, especially along the waterfront of Lake LBJ and it’s southern portion, which includes the Legends Golf Course.<\/p>

Continued development and population growth is expected as residents and visitors alike are attracted to the area to enjoy boating, fishing, and other outdoor recreational activities.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

What is an ESD?<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Emergency Services Districts (ESDs) are local political subdivisions of the State of Texas that may provide fire, rescue, EMS and other emergency services. Texas ESDs are designed to ensure adequate funding of local emergency services within the district and are primarily funded by an ad valorem (property) tax that cannot exceed $0.10 per $100 of property valuation.<\/p>

The enabling statute for ESDs is the Texas Health and Safety Code Chapter 775.
